Powerhouse of TPU Research and Development
The only center of its kind in the industry, our stand-alone facility at SWM’s Greenfield, MA location boasts a team of technical experts dedicated to research and development of new and improved thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films and processes. Our team uses state-of-the-art testing methods to analyze the physical property and processability of source resins and new film formulations to ensure optimal performance in commercial production and operation. We work both in-house or on-site at customer locations to test the newest resins, engineer distinct formulations and troubleshoot both new and existing applications.
The TPU Innovation Center facility has a complete product development laboratory and post-production testing operation; flat-die and blown-film lab lines; and three fully functional production-capable extrusion lines housed in two state-of-the-art hard-walled clean rooms.
With this resource, we are able to provide unequaled technical service and support to engineer TPU-based or other film compounds to meet a customer's specific application requirement. That combined with the global resources and expertise throughout the SWM enterprise, we can not only develop new applications and bring them to market quickly, but we can help our customers engineer solutions to establish new markets.
